He has done it again May 13, 2008 Bwasiz (Ireland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As with a good bottle of wine one has to give it time to let the true flavour come forward. Sander's `This is...' is no different. Another reviewer here gave it a 2* after just one listen and found it rather dull or flat. He acknowledged he might like it more after another few listens. I hope he did because this turns out to be a winner!
In true Renaissance tradition we got here an album created by a man who knows what he is doing and it sounds he enjoys doing it. As Sander is staying true to what he knows best he delivers two disks with a quality production of the finest house.

Great to see the mighty Renaissance have taken back the reigns of the This Is brand. Sander returns with another great comp. Choice cuts include Kraak & Smaak - Loosen Up Children, Martin Eyerer & Stephan Hinz - Tucan (Nic Fanciulli Remix), David K - Incoming (Motorcitysoul Mix), DJ Smash Presents Fast Food - Moscow Never Sleeps (Tom Novy's Sanderground Remix), and the amazing Deep Flexion - Emotion (Trent Cantrell Remix)
This is... Man of his Time!! October 1, 2007 Nathaniel Udel (Fort Collins, CO USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't know what you would exactly define as house music. However, I love the fact that after two years, Sander has returned to put out something decent as the sort of music he plays. In trading stuff off for this, I thought the wait paid off.
The first disc starts off with a piano playing than it gets trancy from their. Not trancy like you would here in Armin Van Buuren's releases, but a house sort of trance. Anyway, the first disc reminded me of Sander's Nubreed release before he even had his name with renaisance. It ends with that energetic beat.
The second disc sees building up the house a little bit, but not that much. However, it didn't have to build up to sound good. Sander's got some unique tracks on the second disc as well as the first.
Overall, Sander is the man of his time. A fairly decent disc for any Sander Kleinenberg fan. Maybe not as much singing, but that does not really manner. It may take a couple of tries, depending on what you think of it. Another listen and decide situation. Personally, I like it!!

Have only got round to listening to this cd once. Found it a bit flat, will probably like it more when I give it another listen. There are a few tracks on here that lift it a little and are also pretty good! it's a fairly downtempo, chilled album. If you like your progressive house then you'll probably like this!
