Not compatible with latest iPod models October 15, 2008 Mr. Ian Thomas (Cambridge, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to charge my new second generation (2G) iPod Touch. Apple have finally changed the iPod charger requirements after years of build-up such that old Firewire-based chargers are no longer supported. As a result, neither of my old iPod chargers are able to charge my new iPod Touch. :-(
In the main description of this charger, it states that it is suitable for 'all iPod generations', but this is factually incorrect. As reported by some other reviewers, this charger is not suitable for the latest iPhone or iPod models including the Touch 2G, Nano 4G and iPhone 3G.
If however you have an older iPod model, this may still be a reasonable cheap option for a charger. However, please be aware that although it is described as a FreeLogix branded charger, it has no manufacturer printed on it and appears to be a cheap generic unbranded charger. If it were me, given how expensive iPods are (and that their batteries are not user-replaceable), in hindsight I would not risk using a charger like this. I would go for something a bit more reliable and trustworthy.
Given that this charger is not in fact suitable for all iPod generations, I've awarded it the lowest possible mark as it is currently in breach of the Sale of Goods Act and the seller should update their description accordingly.
Please don't buy! September 25, 2008 R. I. Davidson (Cumbria, England) Awful. Just awful. I imagined something as simple as a gadget charger would just work straight away. But this just doesn't! I plugged it in to the mains and into my iPod, and the 'charging' symbol appeared- promising... But then, after about 3 seconds, it stopped charging. The red light shines throughout, so it's not broken. It's just an awful, cheap bit of kit.
I implore you not to buy it. Don't waste a fiver.
Great September 4, 2008 F. Carter (Somerset, UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Charger works great, much more easier to use than plugging it into the computer. Good for taking on holidays, as plugs in abroad with a plug converter. - Good value !
DOES NOT WORK WITH IPHONE!! July 31, 2008 MP3 Lover (Wales) Bought this mainly as one of the only power adaptors for the Iphone in stock on Amazon. I had to buy two as I travel a lot, both are now and well in the BIN !!! Plugged it in to the Iphone and the phone virtually told me "Don't even think about plugging that in, its RUBBISH!!".
Does not work with the IPHONE, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!
Had to log on again and buy more expensive from some where else!
Wont even fit! March 5, 2008 U. Murray (Eire) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
The product descibed it as being compatiable with every iPod - I have a 2nd generation Ipod Nano and it wont even fit in the cable port to charge!! Dud. What's the point in sending it back to get a 1p refund? It will cost me another 5 pound to post it back!! My advice - bin it and learn a lesson!
