Best on the market November 24, 2008 D. Gresly (Northampton, UK) This product is of course fairly cheep and the fact that it charges the Ipod too is great, I bought this product for my girlfriend after a previous one i bought her was shockingly bad and physically came apart after a few weeks, the ITrip auto however is well made, has a good FM signal (we have never had to change the frequency) and a good range (as I was following her car to the garage about 20 meters behind I was able to reasonably pick up what she was listening to from my car) in all a really great buy and if this doesn't work you will most likely need to get away from the transmitters and plug your ipod direct
Dissapointing little number November 18, 2008 Tate Taylor (Stourport on Severn, Worcestershire, UK) Having studied previous reviews of this and similar products, I decided to spend my money on the Grifin iTrip. What a waste of money this has turned out to be. Maybe I have a bad one but there is a constant high piched whine accompanying anything that is being played, the sound quality is punctuated with hiss, crackle and pop (new breakfast cereal) and despite using all of the provided pre set frequencies and a lot of my own, the problem does not go away. I can't blame the system in the car as it has always functioned superbly prior to this. Griffin iTrip Auto FM Transmitter and Charger for iPod - Black
DO NOT BUY September 29, 2008 Dan756 (UK) 0 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this product from pc world and to date has broken 2 IPod nano's in the same way (yes you are thinking that I am a bit "special" to repeat this mistake again) but i would still advise against this product
Fantastic but one minor fault September 29, 2008 S. Leslie This is a fantastic piece of kit. i have used it over and over again in my car and have never had a problem with it. However i didnt realise that some ciggarette lighters are bigger than others and when i bought my new car the itrip struggled to saty in and produce a frequency. now one of my mates has to hold it while we are driving or when im alone i have to try and stick it to my dashboard to keep a signal. A minor setback but one that i can certainly live with as it charges your ipod while you drive.
Best by miles. September 8, 2008 Mr. Liam Wharnsby (London) I recently got a 3rd Gen iPod Nano to replace my very old iPod mini. For that iPod I used one of the early Griffin iTrips that fitted in the headphone jack. It wasn't perfect but was the best I could afford at the time. Before that I had one of those cheap ones with green and red LEDs on it that lasted about a week.
For my new iPod I've upgraded to Griffin iTrip Auto, it's so good and so much better than my previous ones. It has presets, recharges your iPod and also has the clearest sound of all. It sounds better than radio, pretty much like a CD.
If you're in any doubt look no further. Basically it's more expensive than the others cos it's better.
