Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.co.uk Review

It's a rare breed of dance artist capable of putting on a live show that inspires not just motion and emotion in an audience, but genuine, flat-out awe. Alive 2007, however, is documentary evidence that Daft Punk--aka Parisian robo-men Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo--now join the ranks of Kraftwerk and Underworld in live dance music's upper echelons. Recoded at Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in June 2007, it finds Daft Punk pull the bolts off their back catalogue and get busy with the circuitry, rewiring it into a rolling montage that's as deviously complex as it is flat-out crowd-pleasing. Affairs commence with the unmistakable one-note guitar fanfare of "Robot Rock", but halfway though, Daft Punk get busy with their onstage tech-mountain, splicing in snatches of the pounding "Oh Yeah" before dropping back to the riffs. Deeper in, tracks flow together, vocal hooks escape from their sockets and skitter off through the mix--and by the time of the epic climax, a triumphant cut-and-shut of "Superheroes", "Human After All", and "Rock `n' Roll", you've forgotten where the joins ever sat. It's a decade of Daft Punk hits, dismantled and masterfully reassembled in front of your eyes. --Louis Pattison

5 out of 5 stars ....Incredible   October 6, 2008

I own Alive 2007, Homework, Discovery and Interstella 5555 (I reccomend these). Daft punk are just truly amazing. All in all, I think ANYONE who likes a nice hook and tune can get off on this stuff, and have a bit of a boogie !!

Although I would never have declared myself a Daft Punk fan I have always been aware of them and their more popular tracks. Then one day a friend of mine told me this was the best album he had heard for an age - much septisism followed - then another friend heaped much of the same praise upon it too; so I bought it.

I had to agree with them.

From start to finish it is simply flows from killer tune, to irresistable hook back to another amazing tune. If you want people up and dancing in any situation this is the album for you.

Even the slower, less strong portions feel as if they are simply giving you a rest from the manic bouncing and shape pulling you will have shamed yourself with.

This album is the majority of DP's better tracks mashed, cut and fused together - doing a better job than any supposed best of - to make arguably the best dance record of all time.

Due to this album Daft Punk are a priorty "Must See" band. Simply, if you like good tunes, a bit of bass and want to step away from the overplayed indie scene - then this is the alum for you.

5 out of 5 stars I wish I had been there   June 25, 2008
Tramps like us (Surrey England)
This really is a cracker of a live album. I wasn't familiar with any of Daft Punk's stuff but after hearing this I went out and bought all the back catalogue only to find that none of it was as good as this live CD!
Recorded in their home town at the Palais de Omnisports in Bercy this is one live album that make you wish you had attended the gig. This does not let up in intensity from start to finish and I shall be looking out for any live performances in the UK with keen interest. Throw away any pre conceived ideas - whether you like electronic music, dance music or rock this album deserves a listen. Can't recommend it highly enough

5 out of 5 stars Excellent CD   June 19, 2008

This has got to be one of the best live albums from any electro band ever. The songs really flow into one another and it is impossible to pick any one standout track. Must buy for any music lover.

5 out of 5 stars Captures the live show brilliantly   May 16, 2008
Mr. B. Lowther (London, UK)
I was at the Hyde Park show and this CD is a great reminder of that night. Classic Daft Punk start to finish, easily the best live how I've ever seen. Only complaint, I imported my copy early on and everything seems to be panned to the left! Very annoying!
