Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.co.uk Review

It's a rare breed of dance artist capable of putting on a live show that inspires not just motion and emotion in an audience, but genuine, flat-out awe. Alive 2007, however, is documentary evidence that Daft Punk--aka Parisian robo-men Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo--now join the ranks of Kraftwerk and Underworld in live dance music's upper echelons. Recoded at Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in June 2007, it finds Daft Punk pull the bolts off their back catalogue and get busy with the circuitry, rewiring it into a rolling montage that's as deviously complex as it is flat-out crowd-pleasing. Affairs commence with the unmistakable one-note guitar fanfare of "Robot Rock", but halfway though, Daft Punk get busy with their onstage tech-mountain, splicing in snatches of the pounding "Oh Yeah" before dropping back to the riffs. Deeper in, tracks flow together, vocal hooks escape from their sockets and skitter off through the mix--and by the time of the epic climax, a triumphant cut-and-shut of "Superheroes", "Human After All", and "Rock `n' Roll", you've forgotten where the joins ever sat. It's a decade of Daft Punk hits, dismantled and masterfully reassembled in front of your eyes. --Louis Pattison

5 out of 5 stars AMAZING!!!!!!!!!   February 8, 2008
Henry James Bain (Spain)
Quite simply one of the best albums i have ever heard! This makes work bearable!

5 out of 5 stars Daft Punk produce very clever live album   January 7, 2008
Mr. F. Mckee (bothwell, glasgow)
This CD is a diamond amongst dung heaps, a Cristal amongst Cava, a Lamborghini amongst Ladas- are you getting the picture?
This is quite simply a must have purchase for anyone who has even a semblance of fondness for daft punk. I was fortunate enough to see them at the (what appeared to be)indian summer that was Rock Ness last year. They refused to play on the larger outdoor stage choosing instead to play their set in the smaller capacity tent because they didn't want to dilute the carefully orchestrated light show which runs in tandem with the set- thank god they did as my mrs and i were treated to one of the best concert/DJ experiences either of us has ever seen. Along with a chosen few thousand we witnessed a duo who were at the pinnacle of their game, effortlessly lifting the crowd to a giddy mix of euphoria and awe in equal measure with their well crafted tunes.
This CD takes me back to the "top of my head coming off" feeling i experienced that night- i played it in the car the day i got it and shouted so loud when they dropped in a tune that the guy next to me just smiled!
If you like them, you should buy this, if your partner likes them- buy them this and they wil love you for ever. If you have a friend that loves music but might not have been too into this type of music normally -buy them it too-i have found it has practicaly biblical powers of conversion to the "way of the punk!"

5 out of 5 stars Stunning Concert Music with an Incredible Double CD Mini-Book   January 4, 2008
Helyx (Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Europe)
CD 1 features 12 live mixed music tracks from the concert. CD 2 Features a mix of Human After All, Together, One More Time, and Music Sounds Better with You / Stardust. The CD enhanced video is of the mix - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.

I don't have to tell you how great the music is - just play some of the samples to get a glimpse of their Cyber Charged Performance for this Live Concert Music release.

This Glossy Limited Edition Hardback Book CD case will exceed your expectations! The glossy black Cover features the thin color-lined Pyramid Tour Logo, with the electric blue words Alive looking as if it is glowing. The 2 CD's slide into the black end paper sleeves inside the books hardback cover.

If you have ever been lucky enough to see them live - it makes it worthwhile to locate a scarce copy. The Mini-Book - 14 cm. x 12 cm. x 1 cm.- is 54 pages packed with Photos that capture the feel of the event, combining the stage show with the audience. Most Photo Images are 2 paged wide-angle or close up shots - 26 cm. x 12 cm..

It also features great photos of Daft Punk's mixing board, and how the show looked from their perspective within the Electric Led-Light Pyramid. It captures much of the brilliant usages of color, optics, stage show, and the audience reacting to the songs. The book and music makes you feel as if you were there. It's one of the Best CD Concert Mini-Books I have seen on the market! Daft Punk is just as progressive with their music as they are with their graphics, so you feel like you get your money's worth.

If you want to remember the Alive concert beyond some fuzzy mobile phone photos or videos, or if it's your first time experiencing them - this great Limited Edition set is the one to get. When it arrived after much searching for a copy, my heart started to race as I opened it! I can still feel the excitement even though the Daft Punk Concert I saw was on July 4th, 2007 as the opening set for 5 Days Off Festival at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I can't wait for the Daft Punk Live DVD Video to be released sometime this year!

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant!   January 1, 2008
J. Dandridge (Southampton, England)
This has got to be the best album Daft Punk has released for years, and is one of the most memorable too. A must have for any Daft Punk fan, or any dance/house/electronic fan at that!

5 out of 5 stars Mind blowing   December 19, 2007
Mr. Ri Alexander (Kent, England)
If you like your electro house and breaks or an avid daft punk follower over the years, then this is the one for u.
This is the best live PA i have ever heard an is absolutely awesome.
With remixed and remastered classic tracks from the previous 3 albums this cd goes from tune to tune with a wow factor all the way through.
This is 100% effort from the Daft Punk boys, an has quality stamped all over it.
