5 out of 5 stars Tiesto Delivers again   December 29, 2004

Tiesto is truly the world's best producer/DJ. This album demonstrates his ability to drive emotions though stiring melodies and chord changes. Track 4 is amazing, haunting vocals and chords make for an incredible experience. Kirsty Hawkeshaw is one of my favourite vocalists with a powerful range that no one can achieve, she teams up with T and Josh Gabriel (from G&D another talented duo) for "Walking on Clouds". Excellent production techniques with crisp/clean layering. This is what it's all about, magic. "Just Be" is a killer with soaring vocals from Kirsty bringing tears to the eyes. Tiesto continues to push the boundaries by producing high quality, unique sonic experiences. A must have for all fans of quality electronica. Would have like to seen the album beat mixed.

5 out of 5 stars Tiesto Does it again!!   October 23, 2004

Without doubt Tiesto is my favorite DJ with a past history of excellence. The "Just be" album is no exception.

You have to love the vocal tracks of which Kirsty Hawkshaw (who has the voice of an Angel) appears more then once. Traffic and Adagio for stings are two non-vocal tracks that are just brilliant and the opening few mins of Forever today lead beautifully into the song.

Not forgetting Love comes again with BT this is a fine album, not remixed (thankfully as you can have enough mixes) This should really be in your collection if your a tiesto fan or trance fan.

5 out of 5 stars Better than 'In My Memory' but...   October 8, 2004

It wouldn't be if weren't for the contibution of Kirsty Hawkshaw. If any woman ever had the voice of an angel, it's this one. The two tracks she features on 'Walking On Clouds' and 'Just Be' completely outclass everything else on the album, and make her fellow guest vocalists pale in comparison. That said, the rest of the album is not bad, on the contrary a lot of it is very good. In particular, the first track 'Forever Today' with it's classical-esque soaring opening, and the blistering version of 'Adagio For Strings' that ends it. In between, are two relatively weak instrumentals (Traffic and Nyana). A good track spoilt by a poor vocal (Love Comes Again). UR is very chilled and atmospheric much assisted by the vocal of Matt Hales (AKA Aqualung). Sweet Misery is another excellent track, Joanne Lloyd's soaring vocal fits perfectly. Which just leaves 'A Tear In The Open', I'm not a big fan of Gaelic vocal on this, it is atmospheric, but it annoys me after a while. Don't ask me why, just one of my quirks.
All in all a very worthy follow up to 'In my Memory', but Kirsty Hawkshaw is the star of Tiesto's showcase, and ultimately it is she who makes the difference for the better.

5 out of 5 stars My favorite Tiesto cd   August 20, 2004

DJ Tiesto is one of my favorite djs in trance music. He is what Oakenfold used to be. His debut album of original material "Nyana" was good but bland at the same time. Thankfully "Just Be" is anything but bland. "Just Be" is everything that I love about trance music. The stand out track on this entire album has to be "Just Be" sung by Delerium vocalist Kristy Hawkshaw. The song is simply amazing. The lyrics are perfectly relatable. They meld well with the melodies and the dance beats. My other favorite song on the album is "Love is Blind" sung by BT (another favorite dj of mine). "Just Be" is a good mix of instrumentals and the vocalized tracks. Tiesto does an excellent job of mixing them into one cohesive, fluid movement. The cd ends with an excellent remix of Samuel Barber's "Adagio With Strings". "Just Be" is one of my favorite dance albums of 2004. If this is an indication to what to expect from Tiesto in the future, then I expect nothing but greatness from the king of trance.
