Almost as good June 30, 2002 as Magik 6, but not quite. The crowd seem livlier, but the tunes he spins are not quite as crisp. Although it shows that Tiesto can cater for whatever crowd he is playing to, it does make obvious the slight differences in tastes between the European and American dance scenes. All in all though, worth adding to the collection.
Not the best Tiesto-compilation-mix February 6, 2002 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
We've all been spoiled with absolute brilliant mixes from Tiesto (like Live @ Innercity, Magik 5 and 6), maybe that's why Magik Seven: Live in LA disappointed me a little. Although it still is far better than most mixes around. On the disc there are a few true Masterpieces: Tiesto's own Flight 643, Riva with Stringer and Three Drives - Sunset on Ibiza to name a few... It's also very cool that it's really live-recorded, you can hear the crowd go wild when they hear the first notes of Das Glockenspiel by Schiller, which really gives you the feel of being at a live gig (which is actually even better, though). Concluding: Magik Seven isn't as well build up as Magik Six. It's not as 'trancy' as Live @ Innercity, but it's still a decent mix, with the live-flavour which gives it something extra.
Another chapter in the famous Magik is here..... July 11, 2001 bobbin@cwcom.net (Kent, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The next installment in the Magik series is here. Recorded live in Los Angeles in front of a packed crowd, Dj Tiesto brings us a new selection of the progressive trance that he is recognised for. The cd will take the listener on a magikal journey that begins with deep grooves and pounding basslines that smoothly and effortlessly evolve into a melodic and uplifting climax.
WHAT WAS HE THINKING????? July 11, 2001 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
ok people, dont get me wrong, im the biggest fan of tiesto there is, but whats up with putting the same tracks from the "bright side"(cd 2 on REVOLUTION)cd on magik 7 with the xeption of THE PROPHET, BASS CONTROL, and COME ALONG???? he shoul've known better. his live set kicked ass. i was at magik 7. it was great but the record is not good. the tracks are great but they're on the revolution mix. if u want more tiesto with the same tracks as magik 7 with almost the same price, then ur better off getting revolution. even though its in MONO sound, its still his best release yet.
