Good year! Good Tunes? November 25, 2003 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a tough one, I can put this album on and love it or I can put this album on and get bored and change it for club mix 99 or Euphoria 3. Its got some good tunes on it but it has some poor ones aswell. It was compeating with Ibiza Euphoria which won hands down. Its a good album in its own right its got some tunes you will struggle to find anywhere else. A good addition to the collection of hard core late 90's house and trance fans only though. Lagacy is probebly the best tune here and this can be faund on countless 1999 dance albums. If you love late 90's stuff you will get on well with this album but if you only like 90's stuff you will enjoy this like you would the plague!
The summer of 99 January 21, 2003 Darren (Redhill, Surrey United Kingdom) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Unlike other reviewers, i absoulutely loved this album. All the classics that were blowing apart sound system's up & down the country are present, and in my opinion, mixed brilliantly. Why the Judge, goes for a ride from funky to the euphoric and then back to the funk, Tall Paul takes a completely different root, by keeping it pretty much banging. So, yeah, all in all, a wicked album, which will always remind me of year of Trance.
Summer Madness, dodgy selections January 22, 2001 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
What a pity. A summer of fantastic music and it's let down by some extremely dubious blending and highly suspect mix selection. So Jules picks the wrong mix of Get Get Down, one of the absolute blasters of the year, and pads out his CD with hi-energy floor-fillers that somehow manage to sound rather bland on this mix. Tall Paul does a better job, starting off with sheer class before it all goes downhill again. One for the addicts only.
Not to the usual standard February 6, 2000 ollyperris@cwcom.net (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently purchased this album, and to be honest, it is one of the worst MOS albums to date. The tracks are all too short, and surprisingly, very poorly mixed (considering Judge Jules' fantastic mixing on "clubbers guide to ibiza 1999") CD1 is bland, with some very dodgy mixing, although some highlight tracks (Hi Gate - Pitchin' and the Choo Choo Project) CD2 is a bit of a saviour (chicane, tall paul, lizard) but not enough to make this a success
