I heard m.playground for the first time way back in`97 with their debut album "marcy playground" which featured the hit track "sex and candy". Now 3 years later shapeshifter is released, was it worth the wait? ab-so-smeggin`-lutly!! Not unlike the 1st lp (catchy tunes,brilliant if a little stange lyrics) but it has it`s difference`s (the tracks are longer, theballads r a bit slower) the reason i rated this album 4 star and not 5, is because it has not got the sheer spine-tingling in yer face oomph of thedebut. if your still uncertain about this album you could compare them to feeder,eels and harvey danger.. but as a guideline only,due to the bands exceptional originality.
