Very, very, very easy August 27, 2008 Graham Bruce (Cambs, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This arrived I unpacked it, read the instructions (Yes every one of them worth the short time it took),I loaded the CD, installed the software, plugged in the usb, took the cover off the needle and there you go burnt my first 12" disc to the hard drive. So easy, yes there was more work to be done on cleaning up the track but found that quite easy once I had played with the second set of software supplied. Maybe not for a budding DJ but for a normal person wanting to save time and money finding & buying digital replacements of their record collection then this is worth it. Just 2 points to consider you may not find music bought when a teen stands the test of a forty something ear's and If your using a laptop depending on your speeakers the music at first sounds tinny but burn to MP3 player and play through your music system sounds a lot better.
Easy peasy July 21, 2008 ROS (Dublin, Ireland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found this very simple to use. I started opening the box at 10pm and was transferring my first album by 10.30.
It's a basic solution, but good nevertheless July 10, 2008 GrayGuy (Milton Keynes, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received the TTUSB05 as a present, and very grateful I was to receive it. Like many others I have an extensive vinyl collection that I would like to convert to mp3. In my case I will store them on a Network-Attached-Storage device which I use for photos and music.
So, turntable unpacked, CD popped into laptop, software installed. I connected the turntable, ran the EZ software that comes with the unit and started to record my first LP (don't laugh, but it was Leonard Cohen's Greatest Hits).
An extremely easy process. I had no problems committing Bird on a Wire, Sisters of Mercy, etc. to mp3
Would I recommend this unit, well maybe ...
It has a few shortcomings that I guess would be addressed in more expensive units. The playing arm is plastic and the counter-weight cannot be adjusted. This meant that a couple of my older LPs skipped during playback. The quality of the cartridge/stylus unit is not what it could be.
It has left me wondering whether or not I could take the innards out of the unit and install them in my antique Pioneer PL12D turntable (all the rage in the 1970's!).
As to software supplied it is very intuitive to use and gave me no problems. It is centred upon sending everything to the iTunes folder, which might be a problem for some.
One thing that I did encounter was that my PC suddenly went quiet. This was because the software/turntable using a new speaker driver that only works for files streaming from the turntable. I had to reset the existing speaker driver as default before I could play the mp3s that I have created.
Demkool having fun June 25, 2008 Demkool (London UK) This Is great easy to set up and use, now I can get all my vinyl onto my laptop, great for all the vinyl heads out there that don't want to spend lots of money.

I would suggest that before you buy to check out the amazon .com reviews as well on this product. I bought this just before christmas after reading these comments on the amazon co.uk site.
After receiving it promptly I found out that it didn't work and from the other reviews on the other .com site it seemed to be a common problem.
After going through the returns form in my amazon account the suppliers return instructions send you to a website that is in german to register to log in to their site to arrange a return.(I don't speak German)
You have to pay for the postal charges to send it back if you are not in Germany which can be pretty pricey from here. I wish I could turn the clock back on this experience :(
