THE professional DJ headphones October 26, 2008 K. Mcdonough There are many brands of headphones out there that are designed for DJ use, and many of them are from well respected names in the DJ world such as Technics and Pioneer.
Ignore them all.
After starting off on the slightly cheaper HD-25 SP versions way back when (same sound and cup design, but different headband) i am now on my second pair of HD 25s and so far have never found any other pair that I would replace them with.
These are THE headphones that professional DJ's use. The sound quality is second to none, the isolation is good for inside noisy clubs and the cups are a little smaller than other brands which makes them much more comfortable to wear.
If you look at pictures of any of the "big name" DJs playing live, be it in Ibiza or London or New York, (and barring the few that have sponsorship deals and get paid for wearing/advertising certian brands) these will be the headphones that you will always see.
Quality and perfection.... December 21, 2007 Jonny Aitken (Glasgow, Scotland) I was looking for a good quality set of headphones to use with my ipod, gaming, movies etc on long journeys when i travelled around europe.
When i tested them out in the shop i was blown away! The sound quality is phenomenal! I have only really tested them with mp3 files at a maximum of 320kbps quality. i can't even imagine what these would make of a vinyl track!
My friend who got into dj'ing a few months back tried them and 2 months later he bought them!
Worth every penny! At first the earpads can be a bit sore on your ears, but that might just be me... once they have been broken in they are fine so they are perfect now.
recommended completely!!!
The best headphones ever... May 13, 2007 Mr. SL Hulbert (London, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I used 1 pair, the same pair of these in my DJing days for approx. 8 years. They were hammered about as hard as they could be in some of the noisiest club/booth environments. They never let me down always giving me what I needed to hear. These days I continue to use this same pair at home and on the move at times for gaming others for listening to music and they still sound as good as the day I got them (back in 1996 when theywere ~180) The only thing they lack as standard are the optional velvet ear pads that are an order of magnitude better and more durable than the original pads. In spite of this, 5 stars forever!
Simply the best! April 3, 2007 Carl Pearce (Milton Keynes) I've ahd these about a year or just over and they have put up a lot in this time, i've used them in clubs, home and studio and they have never let me down not once.
These are true Dj/studio headphones.
If you get these you will not be disappointed but they do have more of an accustic sound.
Sound Fest... July 27, 2006 bookwormUK (England) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Wow. These only arrived today, and they've not been off my head.
I'm hearing things in my music collection that I'd never heard before. My CDs have layers of sound I'd not heard before, it's a whole new listening experience. Wish I'd had them sooner. The earpads are quite small, but they really do cut off the rest of the world. I can hear a small amount of exposure when they're on someone else's head and the volume is right up, but not enough to identify what is being played etc.
The one wire is a big plus, the only downside being the head band is a litle tight. Overall, tho', I can't recommend the quality of these enough.
