A great PVD tune - with norwegian lyrics! September 22, 2003 Didrick Namtvedt (Bergen, Hordaland Norway) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been hearing this tune a lot on norwegian radio lately, and one day the DJ told everyone to listen carefully to the vocals. The girl in the song is singing "Jeg har ingenting, men jeg har alt nar jeg har deg" which in english means "I have nothing, but I've got everything when I've got you". I first had no idea Paul had norwegian connections, but then I later found out the girl was british. It's quite weird hearing a brit sing in norwegian on a trance tune, but what most likely is the case is that she's just varying between vocal and consonant sounds and the result simply makes norwegians hear it as an actual sentence. Overall, this is a great tune, another top PVD production!
An Innovative Release August 22, 2003 Colmus Furios (Donegal, Ireland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pvd is an innovator, which is probably why he continues to be successful and certainly one of the reasons why i'm a fan.Nothing But You is a simple track but is no less effective for that.Paul Van Dyk opened his set with this one at Lush,Portrush earlier this year and blew the crowd away.I was pretty sure i'd heard it in Ibiza the previous summer but i couldn't quite place the artist or title. It was only when i obtained a tracklisting of one of Paul's sets at Amnesia 2002 that i finally realised that this was a tune by the man himself;no mean feat considering i own most of his releases and have been a fan from the start. The tune has a nice uplifting vocal and the usual solid Van Dyk beat. It's perhaps a little understated compared to some of his previous releases but is nonetheless a strong club track. Having extracted himself from the legal wrangles which stifled his last album release,i think we can expect a return to form for Herr Van Dyk in 2003 and beyond. Possibly the biggest compliment i can pay PVD is that he continues to change his style but never fails to produce quality music. In a world where many contemporary DJs are content to ruin the scene with cheese, this man continues to do his thing;quietly, unassumedly, but always on the money
PVD produces a peak time masterclass June 5, 2003 David Morton (Surrey, England) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Paul Van Dyk has once more come up with a tune to show why he is so adored for his sets at places like Gatecrasher and Cream. I first heard Nothing But You when PVD played it at Gatecrasher at Heaven last October. He finished his incredible set with it. To say it was awesome! could be construed as an understatement. This is the sort of peak time, trance tune, that is designed to create pure euphoria and make grown men cry, whilst having massive smiles on their faces. It is beautifully put together and, when heard in a packed club, becomes totally unforgettable. This is pure, euphoric, bliss of the highest order.
