4 out of 5 stars Watch out!   February 13, 2005

This fantastic EP has truly captured me in a special way. If you excect a melodic uplifting and above all epic trance experience, this is nothing for you! This EP is like nothing Paul Van Dyk has ever done before. The tracks are superb from the very first secods to the last. But on this mini-album Paul focuses on the darker side of trance, experimenting with sounds that are on the borderline to techno. However, the title track 'Columbia' differs a lot from the rest of this EP. It's got a progressive and somewhat funky drive that you'll recognise from his other productions. My favourite track though is the Starecase remix of 'Vega' which takes you back to the mid 90's clubscene. In conclusion, this record is well worth the money if you're into techno and old skool tech-trance, but it's not recommended for euro-dance people.

5 out of 5 stars Quality underground trance!!   January 3, 2002
This E.P. from Paul Van Dyk is not what you would expect to hear if you have only heard his released singles, however this is the way Paul's production and DJ'ing is headed. And it is brilliant! A much more underground feel than previous tracks, the remix of the title track, Columbia, is the best one on the E.P. but all six are great dance cuts. A must buy for any fan of the underground trance sound.
