Brilliant March 3, 2002 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have only just brought this album, and on my first listen, it is instantly one of my favourites. Though it isn't the style of dance music I normally listen to, this album is simply amazing. The way Oakenfold uses classical music to contrast the powerful beats in high octane tracks such as Highland (No Way Out) is simply wonderful. The album itself takes you on a journey, with epic vocal trance such as Lost Witness, Delerium and Sanvean. If you have the slightest interest in dance music of any sort, you have to buy this CD. It is simpky excellent.
Genius that is Oakey December 12, 2001 harjhanda@hotmail.com (London) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is probably one of the best albums ever made, Oakenfold at his best. A very stricking statement you may suggest, however one which can be backed up by just listening to this beautifully crafted album. It has the desire the passion and melodies which make this a wonderful album to listen to. Its samplings of classical moments roll into the deep beats of the dance floor causing a euphoria of trance tunes which excel with the beauty of the many perfect voices played throughout the album. It is an album which moves you with every beat and every sound, subtley relaxing you from the calmness of Dead Can Dance to letting you go into the meisonic sounds of Lost Witness and Deliruim, an album which runs straight through to your mind touching your inner body and soul, the feeling of enlightenment is evident, a truly superb album and one which when reached to the masses will cause pure listening pleasure, Oakey your are a Genius and will live forever...
only album with potential to challenge Daft Punk this year. March 22, 2001 sheep007_99@yahoo.co.uk (Birmingham, UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this album from amazon b4 xmas when travelling was released. So much better purely for the fact that this majority unreleased and unheard records. CD1 Sanvean, Piledriver, best parts. Intro is amazingly chilling, then builds ups, and then explodes into a unchallengeable climax. CD2, progressive beginning and builds up again. Exquisite end sequence Animal - Lost.It.Com, North Sky - Black Watch and Silence 2000, The - Delirium. Overall as said in summary, the only album to have the potential to compete with Daft Punk Discovery this year.
Awesome January 28, 2001 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is another one of Oakenfold's greatest. There is a mix of some popular trance tracks like 'Bullet in the gun' together with some real emotional tracks like 'Song to the siren' and music from the film Bladerunner. This album is a real joy to listen to.
