Rip Your Records Rapidly February 22, 2008 Gingerscot (UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Great product easy to use with great sound quality.
Don't know how anyone broke a stylus in 20 minutes. However, as this is a Numark you can buy replacements if you do the same, or much more likely when you wear out the original, for around 8 on a host of web-sites. Even a replacement cartridge is only around 12 online.
It is a disadvantage not having a dust cover so I bought an OK one for around 13 from a US supplier on Amazon markets (look under Numark TTUSB / Ion ITTUSB Dust Cover which takes you to a supplier called DigitalDustCovers).
There are a few direct competitors for this (from Stanton, ION, OEM models & even a much pricier, more featured Numark model) but this seemed to best value from websites and once I got it the only complaint was lack of an included dustcover (which all competitors at under 100 seem to suffer from).

I havent yet set up this turntable as it is a present but the 5 stars are for the fact that when l ordered it said it would be dispatched before 24 Dec and it came the next day, by standard post, Fantastic.
Easy peasy dusty cover me. July 9, 2007 Chris H (Leafy Warwickshire) 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
Within half an hour I'd recorded the first vinyl single to MP3. The software is a freebie that you can update from the internet. That's not a criticism at all. It's damn fine software and better than some of the stuff people are charging for. No, the only criticism is the lack of lid/cover for which it loses a star.
Very easy to use March 30, 2007 Gogol (England) 66 out of 68 found this review helpful
Have to agree with a previous reviewer, God knows how someone managed to break the needle and USB cable in 20 minutes of buying it. The needle is no different than any other you would find on a record player and the USB cable the same as the one you would have to connect your printer.
The whole thing took about 5 minutes to set up, it does come complete with cables to plug into the back of your stereo but I couldn't get a very good output from my HiFi system (probably works better with a stack system) Plugging it into the computer though was no problem.
Simply insert the CD that comes with the record player into your computer to download the software you need, plug in the USB cable and that's about it. The sound quality I have found has been excellent and you don't even need decent speakers for your computer (mine are from Asda!)
Very easy to record onto a blank CD and the playback I have found on a half decent system is great.
Only problem I have with this (and why I only give it 4 stars) Is that it comes with no dust cover. Complete pain in the a***!
Quick and easy March 25, 2007 A. Goreham (London) 34 out of 36 found this review helpful
I found this turntable very easy to assemble and the Adacity software supplied very straight forward and easy to use. It's been great to go through my old vinyl and rediscover gems that I haven't listened to for ages. I don't know how the previous reviewer manage to break the needle and damage the USB port. The words "heavy" and "handed" spring to mind! This is a great little purchase which will bring you hours of fun.
