Amazon.co.uk Review The New Year's Eve hangover from their crazy night closing down the Millennium Dome had barely worn off when the Ministry of Sound served up their latest super smorgasbord of floor-fillers. Woe betide anyone feeling a bit fragile, as it's a full-on audio assault from the off. As ever, with their finger firmly on the pulse of the nation's dance-floors, Clubbers Guide to 2001 is a mixture of the latest sounds around as 2000 became 2001 bringing together a soundclash of perennial favourite trance and--its bastard offspring and pretender to the throne--hard house. Hence you get glowstick grooves from the likes of Darude ("Feel The Beat") and Storm ("Storm Animal") taking you to hard house heaven from the likes of Warp Brothers ("Phatt Bass") and Public Domain ("Operation Blade"). With Tall Paul behind the controls, there are plenty of top-notch tunes on offer, including all the best tracks from all the best parties--Hatiras ("Spaced Invader"), Rui Da Silva ("Touch Me") and Santos ("Camels"). And with no sign of 2000's omnipresent anthems from Spiller and Modjo, it looks as though things are finally moving on! Happy New Year! - Helen Marquis

Very Good Annual.... Shame about what happened next..... October 28, 2003 Very good CD the last one mixed by someone decent and not Steve Caneuto. You can see Steve making an influence on the way this CD is mixed and produced. some of the mixing is a bit strange but the tunes are great and Tall Paul does some excellent mixing to make up for the not so good ones! an example of a bad one is Agnelli Nelson Vegas mixing into Storm Animal.... you can tell Steveo has edited it coz its very sudden. Steve stop mixing these discs and let the pro's take over.
I'm a big fan of 'Ministry of Sound': one conclusion FAB! March 19, 2001 ereza@enigma.com (Tel-Aviv, Israel) not much to say beside that this cd hasn't let me down. like all other ministry of sound's cd's this one took me high high into the skies and left some taste for more. beautiful mixes. nice feeling.
A Good Compilation That Just Grows On You February 18, 2001 I've been listening to this mix for about half a month now, and I just have to say that it has to be listened to with patience in order to apreciate it. Sure, it could have been done better (its Tall Paul for cyring out loud), but still it has good mixing. The track selection and order in some places is brilliant (the beginings of both cds), but in other places its a big mess. Oh yeah, its supposed to be the "new" tunes of 2K1, but we still see some old tracks on here. All in all, you should give it a good listen because this is a pretty good compilation despite what people say.
i wouldn't waste your money February 18, 2001 bigsnake_uk@another.com (Guernsey) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i thought this CD would be worth the money i was payin, with it being the ministry of sound, but i was hugly dissapioted with this edition. Tall Paul's mixin was very dissapionting and there was only a couple of good songs on it anyway. i would not waste your money buying it
Tall Paul delivers a quality MoS Mix, dis time 4 the future February 1, 2001 This cd is definetely a showcase of the talent that Tal Paul has to offer. CD1 is a nice pre club housey mix ending up with a more prgressivey feel, CD2 kicks off almost straight away and in just tune after tune, some many times i thought,'I have heard this recently in a club, and think what a blinder!' - So if you want to dance to the new tunes before everyone else has even heard of them you better consider buying this then!
