Amazon.co.uk Review With the likes of Artful Dodger besieging the UK Top 40 in the latter half of the 1990s, Underground Garage emerged as the "New Black" of dance music--the buzz word on everyone's lips. Rewind - the Sound of UK garage is a perfect introductory course if you are a newcomer to the ballistic grooves of 2 step. It is a retrospective-- the sound of Ayia Napa or Twice As Nice in 98 and 99, with a tracklisting that screams the best of, rather than an overview of future dance floor classics. The production is ultra-crisp and the mixing courtesy of Artful Dodger is impeccable. By flicking the switch between everyone from MJ Cole to Lenny Fontana, Tuff Jam to MC Neat & DJ Luck, he showcases with style and panache most of the highly prized and popular gems to emerge from up until the turn of the decade. Doolaly's "Straight from the Heart", Dem 2's "Destiny", Y Tribe's "Enough is Enough" and Indo's "R U Sleeping" to name a few. In short, this is an underground package that is commercially viable--which is what most Ministry of Sound Compilations are all about. --Kate Head

Well Done April 1, 2001 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great album. I just want to state something garage which is softer is called 2-step. Anyway this album has the greatest selection of tracks on it. To top it off it has The Artful dodger mix it. The Artful Dodger is not all that good when it comes to mixing tracks together but they get the job done. This album is even better than MOS's other Garage album UK Garage. That is also a great album. People who are into underground might enjoy that more than this. This is the best album for 2-step fans. The Artful Dodger cd It's All About the Stragglers is also amazing.

Brings Friday night clubbing into your home February 22, 2000 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This CD is full of funky grooves, your foot will be tappin' all the way through. Definitely brings the UK club scene into your home, you don't need to be clubber to enjoy it, as it sounds just as good pumping through your car speakers. MOS do it again, with the help of brighest DJ's on the scene today. Also consider PURE Garage mixed by EZ, similar style but different tracks.
Pure Garage is better February 19, 2000 rory@zoom.co.uk (Kent, England) I would recomend that you get Pure Garage instead as it has better songs and they are mixed better (in my opinion). If you like layed back garage you would prefer this.
