 Neat - but s..o..S..L..O..W.. with VISTA November 28, 2008

This review's being written on a borrowed '2133': the HP is a very neat piece of kit with superb battery life and portability, looks and feels 'well made', etc., - BUT running VISTA is just too much for it, at least with the 2Gb RAM fitted as standard on UK-spec Vista machines. It can be extremely frustrating waiting for it to 'do things' from boot-up onwards; remarkably reminiscent of an old 286 or 386 machine running Windows 3.1 (time for a smoke and cup of tea between each action..)!Haven't personally tried any of the versions sold with Linux pre-installed, but most comments I've seen elsewhere suggest that those are rather faster, despite the UK versions of those coming with only 1Gb of RAM fitted.

This is a great machine, i've just bought the Linux version and it's awesome. Great build quality, easy to use and excellent value provided you buy the one with Linux which wil save you lots of heart ache and pain in the wallet and the headache of waiting for Vista. As trust me anything of this spec will not run Vista properly as you need at least a Core 2 CPU and 2Gb of Ram .
Put simply save your cash and buy the Linux machine, you wont regret it.
