4 out of 5 stars Most underground Trance Nation yet   May 29, 2004

The Trance Nation series has always for me been a mixed hit parade of whatever trance anthems are currently rocking the clubs and charts at the time of release. However, this most recent one seems to have shirked the tunes that have been charting, which is a pleasant surprise. 2004 has seen dance and trance make quite a revival in mainstream success, and it would be very easy for Judge Jules to just cram on As the Rush Comes, Satellite, Just Be or Rock Your Body Rock like every other trance compilation has these last few months. Credit that he has avoided all the obvious choices, yet still put plenty of movers and shakers into the mix.

CD 1 and CD 2 are quite different in styles, yet they both reflect the current trend in trance, which is veering towards a slightly darker, more techy sound at the moment. CD 1 has some big club tunes on, such as the Gladiator remix (by Gladiator), the new Agnelli & Nelson track, Ferry Corsten's remix of Somebody, and club favourites by Riva, Solid Globe, The Green Martian and Airscape. There are some slower, more progressive tunes on the album, especially at the start, but after the impressive Cheap Emotions track (who are these guys?) the CD improves a lot.

CD 2, my preference, has a selection of slightly harder and definately more driving tracks. Some hard trance from Scot Project, Cosmic Gate and Nu-NRG, a slice of hardstyle (surely a first for Trance Nation?) with Walt's banging remix of Ligaya, and some top quality uplifting stormers from Rank 1, Clokx and GD. Public Domain also contribute a new track (their second this year) in anticipation of their upcoming album. The CD closes with JX- Restless, which seems slightly out of place, but it's still a good track, even though I'd have prefered one of the Tidy mixes (Guyver!).

Overall, this album taps into the club scene excellently, delivering big tracks you might not have heard on the radio, but clubbers everywhere will see this is just as much of a hit parade as any other Trance Nation.

5 out of 5 stars Trance Nation Electric - Awesome   May 25, 2004
I had listened to this cd briefly before i bought it but i didnt realise it would be as good as i think it is now. All tracks are really good, most not that commercial, something which almost every other compilation is. Top 5 tracks i'd say were: wippenberg -fire (7, disc 1), G&M project - sunday afternoon (12, disc 1), green martian(10, disc 1) dont snare me (5 cd 2) and rank 1 (13, disc 2) but all are good and the playing order and mixing between each one is a key factor in the quality of the cd. Well recommended anyway, definitely buy this if you are a half serious trance fan!

4 out of 5 stars one of the best   May 11, 2004

this is an improvement on the last few trance nations, that seem to be more influenced by the 'trance' (if thats what you want to call it) thats in the charts nowadays. This one dares to be different, but there is still room for improvement, though i'm confident that true trance music will return to its former glory. Best tune by far on here is 'SCORPION - Fire' on CD1. CD2 is far superior to CD1 though. If you're a fan of proper trance, and not the rubbish in the charts that claims to be trance, then get it. It's Worth buying!

The electric i would say kicks of a classic big kicker with morning dust in out my life very impressive.Into the blissed out sounds of sprits, holding onto nothing and now we are free. Also with hard techno trance like sose, fire and not forgetting ladies and gentleme etc.Disc 2 beging harder and faster with likes of hornet,fm,ultra curve etc.Its going to impressive you just like harder trance did now keep it going judge jules nice one.

What A CD. I have both Trance Nation Deeper and Harder and they are both excellent but this one is even better. Some of the tunes especially on cd 2 are phenomenal. The only small downside is the first 5 songs on cd 1 are disappointing but apart from that the standard of the rest of the cd is of a very good standard. Here is a guide to some of the best songs on the cd

cd 1

6- Cheap Emotions - Battle Trance Galaxia
7- Wippenberg - Fire
8- Blue Amazon Vs Darren Tate - No Other Love
9- Primer - Indulge
15- F.Massif - Somebody
17- E-Craig - Smoke

Cd2

5- That mucho - Dont snare at me
6- Cosmic Gate - Ultra Curve
11- Blank&Jones - A Forrest
12- Clokx - Overdrive
13- Rank 1 - Its up to you
14- Push- Electric Eclipse
16- Sam Sharp - Twister
18- JX - Restless

Clokx-Overdrive is a unbelievable tune. Blank&Jones and Sam Sharp are also cracking. Trance Nation Electric is a five star cd.If you like Trance music you will definitely like this cd.
