Amazon.co.uk Review Ah, the ubiquitous Judge Jules. Where would we be without his annual delivery of all things clubtastic? Before you can say "better off", it's worth noting that this, the latest chapter in Serious Record's Clubbed series, does actually steer clear of all the usual suspects. Instead, the much derided Judge delivers two mixes which highlight a bunch of lesser-known tunes; not revolutionary, but refreshing nonetheless. It's typically bangin' of course (what did you expect from this less-than-subtle jock), but stay with the flow and there are gems to be found amongst the rubble. CD 1 takes in the gamut of house styles: from the school boy naughtiness of Silverback's "Monkey Lover" (replete with mad parrots), the OMD-sampling "Sound of Oh Yeah" from Tomba Vira and Phats & Small's surprisingly good "Respect the C**t". CD 2 is less quirky. Check Motivation's "Para Mi" for a genre-dodging slice of hands-in-the-air action, followed by a scorching set that takes in the likes of The Sharp Boys, Joy Kitkonti and a hoover-abusing finale from Da Hool and Lectrolux. It's more battered than clubbed. --Paul Tierney

Funky MIx!!! December 10, 2003 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There is no doubting that this is an excellent album. There are some classic songs on there (Fat Boy Slim - Star 69 is just one) but it's hard to pin point what the Judge is trying to do. Who is this album aimed at? The mixture of general dance tunes, euphoric anthems and hard house madness is relatively confusing. Who knows who it's for but who really cares, an excellent album that everyone can enjoy!

The 1st in the series of clubbed was excellent, so the second had a lot to live up to, but unfortunatley for me it doesn't. You fault Jules's mixing but the selection of tracks is what lets in down. The 2nd cd is far better than the 1st with more trance/hard and pumping house, with the 1st being quite dull and a mish mash of tunes. There are some v.good tunes done get me wrong. But it left me feeling very dissapointed.

he wont budge and its true! he has mixed up another pack of ibiza choons for all us clubbers to get down to! his trancey mix up is very close to when he used to do when he was at ministry but all the same its fresh and new
Fantastic mix by the UK dance representative... July 29, 2001 I really liked his mix. Very nice track selection of what basically he was spinning on his Radio 1 shows.Giving it 10 out of 10 and saying that it's worth buying 100% isn't enough cuzz every1 out ther who likes energetic dance music should purchase this mix by da man himself-Judge Jules.

That's right folks, at last we know the good weather has arrived because some brave person has manage to kidnap Mr Jules from Ibiza, locked him in a recording studio, and given the order not to release him until he produces one of his masterpieces. Yes, this album is a masterpiece. I am not sure about the CD Rom thingy that is all the rage now, and personally I would prefer to be able to purchase this seperately and instead have more music on the Disc. That only applies to Disc 1, but with that in mind it does not detract from Jules's usual high quality and ingenious talent for stitching some superb tracks together. Also to be admired the fact that across both CD's you are only allowed to listen to 6, yes 6 commercial release tracks, the rest is all new, and what a choice, featuring the usual suspects, Mauro Picotto, Tall Paul (the excellent INX remix soon to be released), Hi-Gate (Wonder who the real Artist is Jules?)Phats & Small the list goes on, along with the new names this collection is no less an album than vol 1. CD 2 is my personal favourite with a fantastic and enchanting track from Joy Kitikonti - Joyenergizer, which at first seems to be going of track, but, and a big but, it comes back with a vengence, purely wicked. This album is definately for the benefit of the hard of hearing (no disrespect), for to truly get the full effect of this do not be shy with the volume control, bang it up, ignore the neighbours and listen to what I feel is going to be the best mixed album of this summer. Long live the Judge, and keep on Clubbing. RIK.
