| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description As any good football manager would tell you, it's best not to change a winning team. Onkyo's 515 was our biggest selling micro-system ever and took just about every Hi-Fi award in the book, so it's nice to see that its successor has simply been fine tuned to make it an even better proposition. The most obvious improvement is that the 525 now sports a front USB port, which means you can plug an MP3 player or a USB memory stick straight into it, to give hours of music playback (great for dinner parties!). Onkyo make some other claims regarding changes in circuitry design, but at the end of the day, the 525 is very similar to its predecessor - which means you get all the things that made the 515 such a success - i.e. excellent CD playback, digital / FM / AM radio, superb iPod connectively (via optional dock), two line-level inputs, subwoofer output, timer facility, full remote control and tank-like build quality (this unit weighs 50% more than its rivals!). The only down side is that the matching Onkyo speakers this unit is sometimes sold with are not as good as British designs - which is why our Hot Deal here features Q Acoustics' superb 1010i. All in all, it's a winning combination, which looks set to be just as popular as its illustrious predecessor.
