5 out of 5 stars Stunning collection   July 25, 2008
Mark Hughes (UK)
Wow! Absolutely stunning compilation from a DJ I quite literally took a punt on when I read some reviews. Have now started to find and buy his other stuff as well as some from the artists he has featured on this CD (i.e. track 8 Kosmos Epsilon deserves recognition!) - well worth a listen and has not left my CD player for two weeks now!

2 out of 5 stars Really?   May 30, 2008

Really? Five star whitewash?? I think I am going to hang up my dancing boots one of these days... I have been listening to house/techno since around '91 and I will admit I don't buy nearly as much of this type of stuff as I used to, but the bottom line is I know when music sounds good, I know a good groove, I will tap my foot, stop what I am doing, reach for the volume.
Don't get me wrong, there ARE some good tunes here, but they come too late to save each CD. I think I am maybe a bit disillusioned that with all the music production tools around, we should be hearing better and better music, but it seems somehow the essence of what made house music so raw and good in the first place is being lost in layers and layers of samey sounds.

So, just wanted to show the other side of the story. I am sure the majority of people would buy this and consider it a good addition, but if you are looking for musical perfection, maybe look again.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely amazing one!   February 9, 2008
Niels Steeman (Northern Europe)
This has been my first encounter with Hernan Cattaneo and this is been one fabulous ride. After spending most of the years, listening extensively to all GU compilations, I have been rather ashamed that I have not been in touch with this guy before.

Both cd's exceeded expectations for me: whether you like a good floor filler or an mix that makes you relax, wherever you are, this is the one. He has a sound of its own, which I also experienced right after buying edition one from the Renaissance. Very tightly mixed with a buil-up that a few can tip on these days. Favorite? Both cd's ! This guys is hands down mixing himself into history for me.

There are two things I regret (besides being a bit on the late side, experiencing the mixing qualities a bit late):
- Can't give it 6 stars;
- That he deserves more attention in the worldwide media.

Guess that says enough..if you enjoy some of the GU compilations (the 'older' works - before GU 30), you surely have a right buy with this Hernan's Cattaneo's jewel.

This is a fantastic mix - we are talking really euphoric embracing driving wall of sound here. Just one listen and I am blown away. I rate disk 2 slightly higher than 1, because it fits in with my taste bette, but it really is an amazing set. Cannot recommend too highly. Transformative.

5 out of 5 stars Hernan good as usual!!!   September 10, 2007
Nathaniel Udel (Fort Collins, CO USA)
I heard terrible music and saw terrible movies. I also know of people who have always received good reviews for every mix compilation for keeping it consistent. Heran Cattaneo is the man for this without doubt. He mixes this album quite fine. The first CD starts off slow, but good considering. The 2nd disc really builds it up with the energy. Hernan has really stepped more into the trance stage with this album, very productively. 5 out of 5 works for me!!!
