Godskitchen at it's best! January 16, 2006 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
To be honest I own and have listened to the majority of the 'Godskitchen' mixes and WITHOUT DOUBT this is the best CD to purchase. Stuck for choice? You won't be dissapointed with this item-a true reflection on what dance music is-phenominal.
Godskitchen classics Good or Bad July 30, 2005 a trance fan (London, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this CD after seeing the advert on TV, after i brought the CD home my first impressions was AMAZING!!. But after listening to the 3CD i had changed my mind.CD1: this is classic trance and i love all the tracks. they all have very memorble tunes and there are some big names. The tracks i liked the most were "Cream" and "Carte Blanche" (because i dont have them and their both so uplifting!) CD2: This CD is packed full of classic hard house and a few trancy tunes. This is possibly the best hard dance CD i have heard!(i'm not usually a fan of hard dance) I LOVED it!! My favorite tracks were Tony de vit "The Dawn" and "Nightmare" by Brain Bug (A CLASSIC) CD3: This is the CD that let it down. You would only like it if you were really into House. There was a few songs I liked on it like "star Guitar" (by far the best song on the 3rd CD) "Dooms Night" and "Groovebird". I skipped most of the other tracks. All in all this Box Set is really good but the 3rd CD lets it down. I agree with the other reviews on the mixing (it's not very good).
Godskitchen Or Hell's Kitchen July 8, 2005 Adam Caswell (England) I knew that when i bought this i had probably heard most of the tracks and probably owned quite a few. With the first disc this was true but still the tracks are to be heard and will leave you with the impression that Godskitchen is one of the best clubs worldwide. The second discs gives you that great feeling of momentum, hard house at it's best with one or two trance vibes, tracks that stick out here are Barthezz On The Move & Lisa Lashes We Came We Saw. The third disc is for those house fans & this is the only dissapointment of the CD.
gods kitchen classics June 17, 2005 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
have to say this cd is just amazin. especially cd 2 the hardhouse one. from start to finish the classics just keep on comin! have to have a moan about the state of the mixing between some or most of the songs though. cross overs sometimes too fast. but go buy it though. looks like its the best thing around at the moment.
Some great tunes, but not a good mix June 7, 2005 Godskitchen: a classic itself. This album though isn't.All the ingredients are there with tunes you've forgotten you've loved, evoking memories of long nights of your earlier blissful sessions. Yet in the same way as I was a mess at 4:30 on those mornings so too are the mixes in here. Some of the tunes just don't make sense in the mix moving very disjointedly from upbeat majors to dark minors and back again. Where's the well thought out progression of a night? And would it have been such a bad thing to weed out some of the more obscure tracks and tighten it to just 2 CDs? If you want a "Classic" album why annoy the punters with disappointing tracks? Still though, there are a few great moments in here. Mid-way through CD2 it goes all funky, almost disco: and it works. It even exists from that grove well and it made me smile on the Tube. You probably own most of the music on this album anyway: if you do, then I wouldn't bother buying it. If you don't have these tracks though, get it.
