Godskitchen Worldwide February 18, 2004 Mr. Michael Huntington 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I think it is dissapointing that a compilation of such a high standard can only be given one star!. I love this album, there is a good mixture between the heavy tunes interlaced with the more progressive side which, i like. This album also reminds me of Global Gathering. I do agree that there is a slight mix up between the latter half of cd2 and end of cd 1 but this is easily overlooked. I just hope that there are more Godskitchen releases soon, although is this unlikely?
Could have been better September 2, 2003 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
After the brilliant Godskitchen Direct and an even more brilliant tracklisting for this one I had really high expectations for this album. However, listening to it I was a little disappointed as what could have been a brilliant album somehow doesn’t quite work as well as it should have. Maybe I’m being too fussy but there are some major flaws with the way the first two discs have been put together. Whereas the 1st disc is supposed to represent earlier sets played in the club and cd2 the peak time floorfillers, both discs on this album are virtually identical with the second half of cd1 containing songs which should really be on cd2 and as a result all played too slow and the first half of cd2 containing songs which would be better off on cd1. CD2 opens with a more progressive feel and Plastic Boy’s fantastic new track is virtually killed by being played too slow. Tracks from Solid Globe, Motorcycle and Matt Cassar, as good as they are, are way too mellow for peak time material and things don’t pick up until track 6. Though it would be wise not to blame John ‘00’ Fleming for this who, despite the above - probably a record company decision to give both discs a more balanced sound, has done a good job mixing the tracks (oh - except for cd1, track 11 where the sound level suddenly jumps just before the next mix is about to begin, oops.) Cd3 also takes a slightly different approach from previous GK albums as this time round it has been mixed by DJ Montana and so the first half is mainly deep/tech house and the second half the usual combination of techno and hard trance with exclusives from Marco V and Ricky Fobis. Despite the downsides this is still a pretty descent album and is a natural update to your trance collection if you already own Gatecrasher Resident Transmission 2.
A Complete Album; Destined to be a Classic August 31, 2003 Spacey Orange (San Francisco, CA United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is an exellent album and is by far the best of any recent Godskitchen offerings. It has everything: beats, synth, vocals, melodies, uplifting moments, breaks ... All three discs are standouts, no weak links. You will not be disappointed so get it, turn up the volume, and enjoy!

If you're into your dance music, and you've bought albums only to find they never quite sound like the music you hear in clubs, then buy this ! It's the best album I've got to date, and I totally recommend it. It's one of those albums you can listen to as background music while entertaining/chatting, or turn it right up and loose yourself in it!
A Real Disappointment August 2, 2003 I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of this album for a little over 2 months and I’m sorry to say when I came to play it, it was a real disappointment and not up to the God’s usual standards. I’ve been to God’s in Brum and Words can’t even begin to describe the quality of the music and the experience, just pure quality! And I guess I was expecting this from this album, but here’s the sad truth. Disc’s one and three are so lame I wouldn’t even play them to put me off to sleep at night, I’m sorry but that just had to be said. Disc two however is worth taking a look at but is by know means anything like the quality I’ve experienced at God’s.
