2 out of 5 stars Disappointingly Limited   September 25, 2008
A. Reed
Perhaps I was wrong to expect more from it, but it seemed like there just weren't enough new items in this pack to justify the cost. Colour options are quite limited, so you can't always get the shape of sofa you like, for example, to match the colours in the rest of the room, and a lot of the things that I've seen at Ikea and would want to have appeared in the game weren't included. I think they picked the most popular Ikea products, and though I find it funny that the sims can now have a bookshelf identical to mine, there's not much variety, and the designs chosen are mostly the simpler, boxy ones, rather than anything more daring. Although it's called 'Home stuff', you basically get items for a few styles of living room, study and bedroom - there's nothing for the bathroom or kitchen (so maxis can make more money from another stuff pack, I assume) and so you can't make your whole house in a matching style. The pack could easily have included more (like a kitchen set, or some of the ikea kids' stuff) that would have made the pack more worthwhile to me. The objects are cheap in-game, but not so good at satisfying motives, so the actual sims react badly when you buy them, and fortune sims want it replaced with more expensive stuff that would mess up your carefully planned ikea decor. On the plus side, it comes with two premade houses - good if you're feeling too lazy to furnish one, but nothing amazing - and there's plenty for if you want minimalism or a trendy office. However, I got this cheaply from a friend, and I'm glad that I didn't buy it new, because I think I would have been disappointed at the amount I paid for it. With the variety of user-made objects available online for free, you can easily get item sets more interesting than this without the price tag.

2 out of 5 stars Not as great as you'd think   September 19, 2008

I thought the Ikea pack was a great idea. I love Ikea and I was hoping that a lot of the furniture I own would be available in this pack. I was so disappointed! It really is the least of all the stuff packs, there's barely anything in it and it's all just available in one colour. And it's not even particularly nice. I'd recommend the Family Fun Stuff or the H&M Stuff instead.

This was the first expansion pack we bought, and it's amazing. THe furniture is so stylish, and you get 2 new houses that you can buy as many times as you like! Buy it for sure!

Let me guess...when you open the box half the bits are missing and you cannot understand the instructions!

5 out of 5 stars Great "stuff" pack for The Sims2   August 2, 2008

If you researched on the Sims2 website before hand it shows you a list of most of the items in the add-on. The game has great items for around any Sims home, and are likely to nicely fill empty gaps.
-The pack also has the wardrobe I bought from Ikea in!
