1 Fault, make this the worlds most annoying remote control. November 13, 2008 Mr. D. L. Watts (cornwal uk) The remote works just as the other reviews describe very well, the thing is i live in a chaotic mess and if you press any button and i mean any button, it turns the ps3 on, regardless of where it is in the room, as its blue tooth. The amount of times ive returned from work to find the ps3 on is amazing, some times i turn it off more than once a day in fact i hardly ever use it and its run out of battery's the amount of times its turned the thing on. The battery's are going to stay uncharged. Its so ridicules that they give you a special remote control cover with the play tv to stop it happening. if you have the cover or some special wall mounted holder fine but if you have a young family and dont, be warned. only an fool would buy a blue tooth remote control with 45 on buttons. P.S the signal gos strait through the special box i put all the remote controls in.
PS3 at the centre of home entertainment October 27, 2008 J. Turton This remote has to be the best - Easy to setup and use. Now my whole family can use my PS3 for paying CD's, DVD's BD and Games and as such it has taken centre stage under the telly as a permanent installation!. All the extra little buttons the genuine Sony Remote comes with makes it an excellent addition to anyone's PS3 - Those comments about using the Game controller instead! forget it and get one of these....
Never mind the whingers, it's great! July 28, 2008 Captain Franko (Ireland) Terriffic item for winning over non-gamers to your purchase of the PS3. Far less fiddly than using the sixaxis, far more intuitive too. It may not work "straight out of the box", but the pairing process takes only a few seconds, and you only do it once! It may not control the TV volume, but most of us watch BluRay films in 5:1, so I need my cinema amp control anyway - no biggie, particularly if you are grown-up enough to get the volume right within 10 mins of starting the film. Best of all, unlike the sisaxis, it isn't switched on & off itself, it just works when you need it, every time.
Buy it, love it.
Why no volume control?? July 16, 2008 M. Carter (England) 2 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought this a couple of days after purchasing a PSP3. While it has some great functions and is very user-friendly, there is one MAJOR problem, you have to reach for the TV/DVD control to adjust the volume... Why? Surely the technology (seemingly very simple technology at that) is there to add a simple volume adjuster to this device??
For that reason I would only give this a modest 3 out of 5.
Come on Sony, DO BETTER!!
Cannot fault it (apart from one) July 9, 2008 B. P. Gardiner A pleasantly robust, strong piece of kit which does everything you would want it to do well. My only (slight) annoyance is that it takes two AA batteries. Rechargable would have been nice but it does take a very long time to use them up. Also, I challenge anyone to a cage match on call of duty 4 using only the remote which has most of the sixaxis' abilities. My PSN is 'binty'
