Great but gets shot after two hours April 14, 2007 Darkmaster (Birmingham, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is very good but after you've been playing it for a while, it starts playing up. It goes all slow and weird. I like it though. It is a good game especially random map. General Patton campaign is the best out of the three. If you like war strategy games you probably will like this. Good game
4 STARS OUT OF 5 I WOULD RATE THIS GAME.
Empires of the Awesome May 6, 2006 P. Wilson (London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this game because I was bored with my others. It didn't take that long to install so I got on it quickly.
I started doing a random map which is basically making your own game(it's quite detailed) then when it loaded I was amazed by its graphics. i started making barracks docks etc. In world war two (the most up to date) and when a battleship fired at the enemy it made a realistic sound (I think) although the battleship was small (length wise) as 5 men (but then there would be only one big ship on the map)> By accident I clicked both buttons and span it around, the viewing spun round with it(press home to undo this)
The campaigns are really hard (I find)there are 3 different ones in different eras with Richard the Lionheart, General Patton and one other.
There are five of each thing, 5 countries (on 2 spans of time) five eras (medieval to world war 2)
I like everything about it, a must buy for everyone
truly awesome
bestreview, ONE OF THE BEST GAMES!! February 5, 2005 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
Empires is not only grapically tremendous it is also battle excellent in many ways. You go from the the medieval age in to world war II. There is quite a bit of blood!!! people who say the game is "plain boring" are just total whinps and puffs. Ok the graphics are similar to empire earth but the battles are different though thats one of the keys. You can get units in the game like with the americans which is one of the countries you can be you can drop nukes on your enemies and crush then which, is so GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no bad points about the game whatsoever. BUY THIS GAME NOW. YOU WON'T REGRET EVER DON'T BUY CRAP GAMES. MUST GET!!!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant Game October 4, 2004 James (Sheffield) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
Spanning 400 years "Dawn of the Modern World" is a superb game from the Medieval Ages to WWII. Play as the Dominant Powers in the Ages with their own special millitary and ecconomic attributes. Train Units from mere peasents to swordsmen and tanks and planes (but most excitingly) to the German V2 Rocket and the American Atomic Bomber. (Superfortress) The multiplayer element is good to and the best thing is seeing a player your playing against curse as an atomic bomb wipes out half his city.
