After looking forward to the first Toolroom Knights, i was left wanting, The first comp just didn't do it for me, but this second release certainly does, and if you thought you knew the Gabriel & Dresden sound, think again. On this mix they demonstrate their broad appeal. Highlights include Junior Boys - In The Morning (Hot Chip Remix), the thumping James Holden - A Break In The Clouds, The Egg - Nothing (Dusty Kid Loves Rock Mix), Josh Gabriel - Crosstalk, The Killers - Read My Mind (Gabriel & Dresden Unplugged Mix) and the return of the classic G&D track, Tracking Treasure Down, this time mixed by Wippenberg.

While there are tons of amazing tracks on here, there just seems to be no flow to the mix. I can't help but remember an interview with Josh Gabriel where he spoke of trying to keep the energy going up and down, not just rocking it out. It seems they take this to the extreme on this disc, playing huge tracks follwed by the most minimal of techno. Up and downs this extreme are not good for the DJ set, a more gradual rise and descent in energy is where the true masters excel. Many of the mixes on here just drop the energy to zero.
All the tracks by Gabriel and Dresden on here are simply amazing, and remind me of why I love to see them live. Stand-outs include the Wippenberg remix of Tracking Treasure Down, Enemy, Read My Mind, and Mark Knight's Sylo (An absolute stomper!). The second disc has far better flow than the first, and is great to listen to. Although the mixing could have been far better, their track selection is impeccable, minus a few glaring exceptions (Fahrenheit, Blonda, the mix into Moan). These guys aren't flawless like Dave Seaman, but are still rather good.
