It does what it says on the label May 3, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was sceptic about buying a Tidy CD compilation by Eddie Halliwell and Paul James, who are better known for hard house, but I was very surprised. Mixing hard electric beats with layers of funky rhythms, which work really extremely well producing a rounded, lively sound with added sparkle and less Duh. Some of the track remind me of the funky days of Funkerdelic and Parliament. If you like your music hard with a bit of added funk then don't be put of by the plain packaging and there are no bad track here. This compilation is 100% pure hard funk energy and may well be the future for the ever developing hard house sound. Excellent .
Nice hard funk December 22, 2001 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
There are many fans of funky house and many fans of hard house, and each has ben well catered for in recet months and years, both with quality cds, good club nights and radio play. However, the cross-over of the two (in my opinon) has been sadly ignored for too lon. However, the release of the epic 24 hours by agent sumo set off a new sound, resulting in what we have here. A funky hardish cd. Set songs here are absolutely fantastic and there is no badsong. The mixing is standard fare ( and so it should be on a cd, save the trickery for alive setting) and the track ordering logical. A must for any fan of funky hard house. Hopefully, the first of many of its kind.
