| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Published in hardback in 1981 by The Blackie Publishing Group, this is the 6th adventure by The Baker Street Irregulars -namely Dan, Jeff, Liz and Mickey. When published in 1981, this book originally retailed at around 4.50; the jacket illustration (full view shown above) is by Philip Hood. Story: The four young detectives of the Baker Street Irregulars are up against a very baffling case where their police sergeant friend, Detective-Sergeant 'Happy' Day has vanished in suspicious circumstances. The police have been tipped off that Day was taking large bribes in return for information, so they are looking for him for an entirely different reason. The evidence looks damning, but the four irregulars aren't convinced and the only thing they can think of doing is following the leads that Day had written down in his little black notebook on three unsolved cases he was working on before he disappeared. Perhaps one of these cases will lead to Day himself...The other adventures in the Baker Street Irregulars series are: The Case of the Missing Masterpiece; The Case of the Fagin File; The Case of the Blackmail Boys; The Case of the Cinema Swindle; and The Case of the Ghost Grabbers.
