Woah! keep yer knickers on luv! March 8, 2007 Gilno Carswell (Douglas, Isle of Man) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Firstly I'd like to state that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE both the Brainfreeze and Product Placement CDs and would have no hesitation of rating them 5 stars each. This, however, is not a patch on the originals. It's a mixture of live tracks and sections from the live shows, sounds good eh? WRONG! And that's the problem. Frankly, it sounds a mess. It's as if it's been recorded on a low quality tape recorder by a fat dude stood at the front. It may well work if watching a live show DVD but as a CD it's utterly pants sound quality really lets it down.
In sumation, buy the originals if you can as they are far superior.
The Best Shadow album? October 25, 2004 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This album is the best shadow album you will find without searching hard. This album will make you laugh as some of the 45's are truly the most unique things possible. But Shadow and Cut Chemist are also incredible and show of their incredible mixing talents and their scratching abilities throughout. This album is probably on a par with brainfreeze so if you love that then you will love this. The best shadow album (in my opinion) is 'live in austin' so if you find that anywhere then buy it straight away.
takes a few listens September 22, 2004 John Biscuit (Sheffield) 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
This review isn't written after a couple of listens. what you'll find in this album is DJ shadow (ex-unkle) and Cut chemist (jurassic 5) mixing they favorite 45"s. This includes Bobby & James Purify's I`m Your Puppet, Earnest Jackson's Funky Black Man, Dennis Coffey's A Whole Lot Of Love and some weird ads for the 'real thing'. This album takes a few listen, but if you're a shadow fan then this is a worthy addition to your cd collection.
