Best Armin yet June 7, 2008 jonwinter (Manchester UK) Listening to this now for the first time and the hairs are standing up on my arms. I just can't turn the speakers up loud enough. Absolutely fantastic trance... chilled out, blissful, complex, but with a thumping base. Even better, all of these tracks are completely new to me; it's not just a rehash of the same 'classics'. One of my new favourites. 'Till the Sky Falls Down' (track 2) is especially good.
Excellent! March 7, 2008 Ms. H. Durrant (London, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Shear Armin at his best. The true Ibiza experience. I go every year, and this CD just brings it to life. Trance at its best. A must have for all true trance lovers.

Since gaining top spot in the recent top 100 djs poll, AVB's profile has certainly risen. Even my own view has changed on him in the past year. Recent releases which when combined with his regular radio show have been brilliant, so news of this release demanded a purchase. And it was a great purchase too. This mix in particular is probably what makes AVB appeal to me more these days, and that's a varied sound. Particular mention of Dubfire's Roadkill, which i never thought i would see on a trance cd, but a remix by Edx has transphormed an already great track into an epic monster, with touches of trance thrown in too. Def one of the best remixes i've heard in a few months. Other great tracks include Dash Berlin - Till The Sky Falls Down (Dub), Jose Amnesia Feat. Jennifer Rene - Invincible (Sied Van Riel Remix), David West - Welsh Morphology and John O'Callaghan Feat. Audrey Gallagher - Big Sky (Agnelli & Nelson Remix). Great mix, certainly looking forward to the next State Of Trance.
My Favourite Trance CD of '07 (So far) November 16, 2007 Stuart Foster (Scotland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We all know Armin is a legend (well anyone that knows anything about trance anyway). This CD just continues the story of the man who broke into the scene with Blue Fear and is now (deservedly so) number 1 ranked DJ in the world. If you are a fan of the previous Universal Religion CDs then this will blow your mind. Mixed live at Armada in Ibiza, Armin starts off with more prog. / laid back style trance, which for the first half of the CD, gets you into the state of mind where it just readies you for the lush, multi-layered sound of the second half. I would like to pick out some great tracks but to be honest, all of them are great in a different way. I don't always go nuts about trance compilations, these days I find some of them a little souless, although the tracks are good, the progression isn't exactly thought out, but this CD is a winner on both levels. Each track is immense and the build up of the CD will leave you gasping for more at the end. Any trance fan, or anyone interested in good music for that matter, should buy this CD.
Good mix November 3, 2007 Alan (Stafford, United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not surprisingly, Armin has produced yet another good mix CD, all the better for it being live. I don't need to harp on about the strengths of AvB; his recent number 1 DJ status says enough. I think this mix does not get 5 stars from me, simply because of my personal taste - the first half of the CD I'm not too keen on; there seems to be lack of layering synths and uplifting trance that I prefer. This said, the mixing quality of AvB all over the CD is, as usual, excellent. And the songs are OK, just not as good as the second half of the CD. The latter is fantastic, with some wonderfully incooporated trance tunes. When listening to this part, the club atmosphere is tangible, and the energy and typical good quality music presents itself in abundance. I feel giving this only 4 stars is harsh, but AvB has raised his bar so high that I almost feel I have to. This CD acts as a stop-gap between his State of Trance releases, and I recommend it to trance and progressive house lovers... it is very much like the harder parts of SoT, so if you like that, then you will love this. My personal favourites are those songs by Thomas Bronzwaer, A&F & FKN, and Mungo.
